Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Castelão
Lisbon, Portugal
The Lasso is a find. Again, we try to do the most homework to find wines that taste and feel more expensive than they are. This one has a classy Old School vibe- coffee and chocolate and cigars, big but not heavy. Fresh and mineral start, associated with the Atlantic influence. With its huge color and bold plummy nose, this easy red offers a striking volume of fruit for its echelon. It’s firm yet plush with 9 months in second and third year French oak barrels. Will open up if you let it, but also why wait?
- Touriga Nacional (45%) – Brings structure, deep color, dark berry flavors, and floral aromas like violet.
- Aragonês (35%) – Also known as Tinta Roriz (or Tempranillo), adding red fruit notes and smooth spice.
- Castelão (20%) – Provides crisp acidity, bright red currant flavors, and rustic character.
