100% Chardonnay. The Clos Saint-Philibert sits perched atop the Côte de Nuits at almost 400 meters elevation, directly above the Echezeaux grand cru. In this rocky vineyard scattered with limestone, ripeness comes late and is always accompanied with a high-altitude freshness and slicing minerality. The Chardonnay fruit is luscious and creamy, yet delivered with the purity and precision typical of the 2014 vintage. Its lingering, mouth-watering finish is a reminder that it was bottled unfiltered to preserve all its depth and length.
Treated with just as much attention as the domaine’s most illustrious grands crus, this white offers loads of pleasure today and will drink well for at least a decade. The inherent quality of this little-known terroir gives us a rare opportunity to experience one of Burgundy’s greats at tremendous value
