Meliga (An ode to Piemonte's traditional lemon and cornmeal cookie).
Inspired by Paste di Meliga, a traditional cookie from my lakeside hometown of Avigliana, at the foothills of the Italian Alps, this frangipane-like pastry has a crisp texture, and an intense lemon scent. Few ingredients of the highest quality, like organic brown rice flour, Italian fine polenta, Italian candied lemon peels (candied in sugar, NEVER high-fructose corn syrup), and almond flour, will make this pastry a perfect one for your kids’ breakfast, for a fresh dessert on a hot summer night, or the perfect treat to show love and care to yourself and your loved ones.
The Italian Cookie cookie mixes are the only gluten-free and vegan mixes without preservatives, additives, or dyes (that’s why refrigeration is advised). They only use organic and sustainably sourced ingredients from trusted farmers and suppliers and just the right amount of sugar (organic raw cane sugar).
